WE ARE WOMEN WHO ARE WISE

By Ayisha Jeffries Cissè

WE ARE extraordinary ordinary women

WE ARE wise...

WE ARE women who are wise

WE ARE soul women...

WE HAVE AFRICA'S blood flowing through all of us women

WE ARE real women

We ARE women of rhythm and definite dance fury

WE ARE flowing black lines, fluid energy...of pain and pleasure

WE HAVE Africa's sepia tones from every continent resting in our wombs...black, dark brown, plum women

WE ARE past and present ... of primal importance

WE ARE the collective storyline of all of Humanity

WE ARE complex sentences in the book of Revelations

WE ARE the seven oft repeated verses

WE ARE the parting of the sea

WE HAVE AFRICA'S majesty and beauty in our smile

WE ARE full moons and blazing red sunsets

WE ARE star-filled skies and desert nights

We ARE rivers and streams and ridges and crevices and canyons and gulleys...

WE HAVE creation in our woman

WE ARE wise women

WE ARE women who are wise

WE ARE soul women  women who are wise.
