Prolifically Pissed Poet
(A kwansaba tribute poem to
Wanda Coleman)
By Jaye P. Willis
Tempest child simmers in low caste stew,
stirred by bigotry, served as another alleged
meager, futile female specter. Critics scorned her
exist-stance, having erudite darts flung into
their eyes, casting light on blind misery.
Blues woman studied hard but Beyond Baroque
most days, life’s legacy uplifts onyx minds.
