Let Us Pray

By Toni Simmons Henson

Our Father, who is in Heaven

Our people have been traumatized
The fact that we're still standing, mesmerized
Satan in the white house, people hypnotized
The world is going crazy

Hallowed be your name

They want to save babies, so they ban abortion
Put babies in the cages, parents with no options
Killing our babies in the streets, Blacks in disproportion
Doesn't this sound crazy?

Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done

I know this sounds funny, but they're Christians
Building walls instead of bridges is their mission
Smiling in a dissonant cognition
You know that this is crazy

On earth, as it is in Heaven

Heaven can't be having prison pipelines
Keep praying Jesus comes back in my lifetime
End the suff'ring and abuses in the meantime
This is making me crazy

Give us this day, our daily bread

The richest nation in the world, children hungry
GOD said to feed the poor and give them money
You say it's socialism, but it's His Son see
Came to save the world from crazy

And forgive us for our trespasses

You say I cannot judge, I have no right to
Then judge yourself because you have no right to
GOD's judgment will eventually indict you
Repentance isn't crazy

As we forgive those who trespass against us

Forgiveness is the reason why we're sane yo
How many times repeated it's insane, no?
Praying for how to let the pain go
Before I go, go crazy

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil

It's called rape, murder not colonization
Ain't nothing civil about this civilization
Who is it that discovered this hater-nation?
Alt-right isn't patriotic, it's just crazy

For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory

From the statehouse to the church house, just a money grab
We need an anonymous for greedy rehab
Prayer can heal this situation it's the hope we have
Let U.S. pray away the crazy

Forever...

Amen
